OUR PASTOR

Pastor Donald Ray Berryhill, Sr. is the youngest of five children, born to the union of the late Curtis, Sr. and Ida May Berryhill, on September 11, 1964. He is the beloved husband of Susan C. Berryhill and the father of five children.

Pastor Berryhill attended Jefferson Davis Elementary School, Allen J. Ellender and Lincoln Middle School, and is a graduate of John Ehret Senior High School. He also attended New Orleans Baptist theological Seminary, Delgado Community College, Union Baptist Theological Seminary, A.P. Clay College, and Faith International University & Seminary in Tacoma, WA. and the Christian Bible College. Pastor Berryhill has an Associates Degree in Religious Education, Bachelors of Art in Religion and two Honorary Doctoral Degrees.

Upon completion of his formal education, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for over ten (10) years and was honorably discharge. Pastor Berryhill continued his service to the community and retired with thirty-eight years in law enforcement.

In 1994 Pastor Berryhill acknowledged his call to the Gospel Ministry and on October 15, 1995, Pastor Berryhill was licensed to preach the Gospel under the authority of Pastor John Carl Raphael, Jr and the New Hope Baptist Church. He was ordained on April 3,1998 under the auspices of the Louisiana Freedmen Missionary General Baptist Association facilitated by the late Rev. Benjamin Maxon, Jr.

On December 4, 2000, after having Pastor Berryhill conducted service for the year of 1999. The membership decided to elect Pastor Berryhill as their Interim Pastor and on February 4, 2001, exactly two months later, Pastor D. R. Berryhill, Sr. was elected by a unanimous vote to be the 8th Pastor of the First Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was installed as Pastor on June 10, 2001, under the auspices of the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist General Association, facilitated by the Rev, Moses S. Gordon IL Under the leadership of Pastor Berryhill the membership grew tremendously.

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, Pastor Berryhill was elected to the Beulah Baptist Church & Congregation, as their 7th Pastor. He was installed on May 22, 2022, under the auspices of the Liberty Missionary Baptist and Educational Association facilitated by Rev. Terrance Ransom, 1st Vice President.

Pastor Berryhill continues to remain steadfast and unmovable in the word and work of the Lord.
